DESCRIPTION:Staff at The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services i
 n New York will gather on Monday\, October 31st at 2:00 pm\, for Sharshere
 t’s The Impact of Culturally Competent Cancer Care. The one hour training
  webinar addresses the importance of psychosocial support and culturally co
 mpetent care for cancer patients. We all know cancer takes a physical toll\
 , but we don’t always realize the psychosocial and spiritual impact cance
 r causes. Social service agencies like The Jewish Board are uniquely positi
 oned to offer services that are otherwise difficult to find. The training e
 xplores the issues through the example of Jewish women facing breast cancer
 . The training includes topics such as increased hereditary risk for Jewish
  community\, and cultural\, religious and spiritual issues that may impact 
 detection\, treatment or survivorship\, and how to best offer support to th
 ose impacted by cancer. Woven throughout the presentation will be examples 
 of how this information is relevant to many other communities. Participants
  will also learn about the free resources Sharsheret can provide to all bre
